Take your career in a new direction this autumn with a garden design diploma
28th
July 2010, Devizes, Wiltshire. With the new academic year on the horizon, why not
sign up for a course that could take your career in a whole new direction? Garden
Design School offers a one-year diploma course in garden design from its two study
centres: Painshill Park in Cobham, Surrey, and the University of Bristol Botanic
Garden. Course dates for 2010 are 14th September (Painshill Park) and 16th September
(Bristol). For more information, visit

The 36-week, part-time diploma course is designed to provide students with everything
they need to become a professional garden designer. Unlike many other courses, the
school’s two principals, Robin Templar Williams and Moira Farnham, are practising,
award-winning garden designers and deliver the majority of the course’s content.
Additional tuition is provided by guest lecturers, each recognised as expert in
their chosen field.
“Garden design has become one of the most popular choices for a second career. Students
come from all manner of backgrounds. Our ethos is to ensure each one of them is
equipped with a solid, practical skill set that allows them to hit the ground running
once they finish the course.” said Robin Templar Williams, founder and principal
course lecturer.
Core modules of the course include the principles of design and drawing skills;
hard landscape materials and construction; soft landscaping and planting design;
professional practice and running a successful garden design business.
